Personal injury is an area of law that seeks to compensate a person for injuries to their body. Such injuries can be caused in many ways, including auto accidents, pedestrian accidents, or slip and falls. Unfortunately, when a person is injured, the problems do not end there. Medical visits and medical expenses usually follow, and the person may not be able to return to work immediately. To make matters worse, insurance companies engage in delay tactics and trickery to pay as little as possible. Chen Law Group will ensure that victims are properly compensated for their personal injuries.
Motorcyclists and bicyclists are some of the most vulnerable commuters on the road. This is due to their size and lack of protection compared to a car. Yet they are often shown hostility by other motorists who share the public roadways. Collisions involving motorcycles and bicycles can often result in catastrophic injuries for the rider. Chen Law Group understands the laws protecting motorcyclists and bicyclists, and will use them to the fullest extent to obtain just compensation for the injured.
Automobile accidents can involve multiple vehicles, and the collision can be light, moderate, or severe. But regardless of how an auto accident occurs, a person is entitled to compensation for even the slightest of injuries. Unfortunately, the law surrounding compensation for automobile accidents can be quite complex to navigate. This is especially true when the insurance companies are involved, as their goal is to avoid liability and minimize payout. Chen Law Group will help seek compensation for automobile accident injuries.
The public roadways are shared with tractor trailer trucks, more commonly known as "big rigs" or "semi-trucks." Although these behemoth vehicles play an indispensable role in our economy, they are difficult to maneuver on the streets and a danger to other motorists. Collisions with tractor trailer trucks can result in serious injuries. To complicate matters, tractor trailer trucks are usually insured by commercial policies. Chen Law Group possesses the experience to obtain redress for anyone injured by tractor trailer trucks.
Uber and Lyft have exploded in popularity in recent years, and largely pushed traditional taxis out of the market in Southern California. Auto accidents involving Uber or Lyft vehicles can be complex because of insurance coverage issues. Drivers carry their own auto insurance policies, but so do Uber and Lyft. The legal issue is whether ridesharing companies can be held liable for injuries caused by the drivers. Chen Law Group has the experience necessary to handle claims against Uber or Lyft.
California's weather is alluring, and its residents and visitors are able to walk outside year-round to enjoy the warmth. But the sidewalks that people walk on often run adjacent to busy streets, and crossing these streets can be hazardous. Vehicle collisions with pedestrians often occur because motorists are distracted by their cell phones or not paying attention to their surroundings. Chen Law Group knows how to obtain just compensation for those injured by unwary motorists.
SLIP AND FALL
Slip and falls can happen in any place. The area of law that governs slip and fall accidents is called premises liability. Under California's premises liability law, landowners who are aware of people coming upon their land or who invite others onto their land need to ensure that their property is reasonably safe. If the property has a dangerous condition that injures a person, the landlord may be held liable. Chen Law Group is well versed in premises liability law to help the injured seek compensation against landowners.
Dogs are beloved by their owners, and are often considered close members of the family. But dogs are still animals, and they can bite. Depending on the size and aggression of the dog, the bites can result in serious injuries such as skin puncture, nerve damage, infection, or permanent disfigurement. Fortunately, California law holds owners strictly liable for any personal injuries inflicted by the dog. Chen Law Group is thoroughly familiar with how to pursue claims against an owner for dog bites.
